| Moss there for the taking, if any team is interested
The NFL Network perpetuated an interesting rumor and theory that perhaps Moss and aging Packers quarterback Brett Favre would finally team up in Green Bay. After all, Favre wanted Moss before the '07 season. Moss, the story goes, didn't feel the Packers were as welcoming as the Patriots, which is why he was happy to be traded to New England after two forgettable seasons with the Raiders. The Moss watch continues, and you have to think his most recent team is a little uncomfortable as this unfolds. With the Patriots' former No. 3 receiver, Donte' Stallworth, signing a seven-year, $35 million ($10 million guaranteed) deal on Saturday to play opposite Braylon Edwards in the Browns' increasingly fortified offense, New England's one-time glut of Tom Brady targets is dwindling.
Legal hurdles high for voter petitions Critics say initiatives being ...
And she wanted to block petition circulators from promising one thing when the real purpose of their petitions is something far different. "I don't dislike the petition process," said Gansert, now the Assembly minority leader, last week. "But let's be clear what a petition is all about. Don't say they are going to do one thing when what they do is something else." But since her bill became law, three petitions to increase the gaming tax rate have been tossed out by judges after the Nevada Resort Association complained they violated the single-subject rule. Two others to limit property taxes were jettisoned by sponsor Sharron Angle before scheduled court dates because of AFL-CIO objections to their summaries. Only two petitions, one to legalize marijuana and another to restrict government's use of eminent domain proceedings to acquire land, have qualified for placement on election ballots since Gansert's bill became law in 2005.
Japan may move to support crashing dollar
Japan's industrial output fell 2pc in January on slowing exports to the US, Europe, and lately the rest of Asia. While China has held up well so far, there is mounting evidence that tighter credit rules are starting to bite. The Xinhua Finance index of business confidence fell from 67.7 to 60.3 in February and production index tumbled from 61.1 to 51.3. "Over coming months, we expect this deteriorating outlook to becoming increasingly evident in industrial production," said Barclays Capital. China's yuan has risen 2.6pc against the dollar this year alone as Beijing attempts to head off an inflationary crisis. Prices rose 7.1pc in January, with clear signs of knock-on effects into pay demands. The minimum wage in Guangdong is to rise 18pc in April. The triple effects of tight credit, inflation, and a rising yuan are squeezing export margins, tipping hundreds of companies into the red.
Wounded Nation
The need for sincere spiritual interactions to give balance cannot be ignored; both go hand in hand. Guns barking, dead bodies, hold-ups, and so on, are all manifestations of violence, but its origin takes place in the mind, the thought process. Therefore, the mind must be purified of such malicious thoughts for the preservation of human life and dignity. We bring to mind the words of 'Abdu'l-Bah, son of Baha'u'llah, the prophet-founder of the Bah' faith, who said: "There is nothing so heartbreaking and terrible as an outburst of human savagery! I charge you all that each one of you concentrate all the thoughts of your heart on love and unity. When a thought of war comes, oppose it by a stronger thought of peace. A thought of hatred must be destroyed by a more powerful thought of love. Thoughts of war bring destruction to all harmony, well-being, restfulness and content.
Open Source Drupal Dives Into Commercial Waters
Acquia will work with the maintainers of the 30 selected modules, which are the most popular ones. Openness Is the Key The commercial distribution will not impact Drupal's standing as open source software. "Acquia is not going to fork or close source Drupal," Buytaert said. Acquia will "listen to and work with the community to advance Drupal." The Drupal Association will continue to operate the Drupal.org domain; Buytaert will continue to own the Drupal trademark; and the Drupal community will continue to set the technical direction of the Drupal project, Buytaert added. Acquia's investors fully expect the company to use some of its funds to improve Drupal, and Buytaert is "expressly permitted to make decisions within the Drupal project that may not always be in Acquia's best commercial interest," he said.

State Patrol follows suggestions for lab fixes
The State Patrol announced Thursday that it has followed 23 recommendations of three recent audits aimed at fixing problems at its toxicology lab, and it is working to implement 16 more. At the same time, Fiona Couper has been appointed to take over as the new state toxicologist. She most recently served as chief toxicologist in Washington, D.C. The move is a reflection of the heavy workload of current toxicologist Barry Logan, who will continue to oversee the state's toxicology and crime labs but will no longer run the toxicology lab on a daily basis, State Patrol spokesman Bob Calkins said. The patrol underwent three audits after toxicology lab problems surfaced that have threatened drunken-driving prosecutions around the state. Last summer, toxicology lab manager Ann Marie Gordon was accused of signing off on work she hadn't done.
