| Can't keep up with advancing technology? Don't worry. We'll help you
You want a digital camera but havent given much thought to what youll do with it after youve brought it home. You walk into DigitalCameraHut, and youre overwhelmed. Somebodys jabbering about megapixels and image stabilization, and next thing you know, youve signed up for undercoating. Isnt that for cars? This is a camera, right? Now you need to buy a memory card that costs more than the camera, and a Bluetooth printer. At some point, its cheaper, easier and more effective to get the necessary classical training to craft stone-tablet etchings of your kids playing at the beach. This stuff is supposed to make your life simpler and more fun, and too often, it does the opposite. Fumbling with buttons, an LCD screen the size of four postage stamps, or seeing the DVD player you just bought made obsolete? Unless youre a committed technophile, thats not fun.
Wading through digital photo options
The biggest issue people have is an overload of great shots and not enough available space on desks, shelves and walls to display them. (Unless you get a nice digital frame, of course.) As always, the numbers provide compelling evidence. From May 2006 to May 2007, the volume of prints made from digital cameras grew by 34 percent. The most stellar growth for that period came from online photo services, where print orders soared by 80 percent, according to the Photo Marketing Association International. That increase is because of a number of factors, including the growth of high-speed Web access, which makes uploading images to online printers such as Shutterfly, Walgreens or Kodakgallery.com (formerly Ofoto) a breeze. Plus, those outfits and others offer an increasingly wide array of products, from holiday cards to personalized stamps, that just scream for an adorable image of your kid.
The Legacy of Bush II
They are quite candid about it, even acknowledging their mean spirit in accomplishing it. Their leading strategist in Washington - the same Grover Norquist – has famously said he wants to shrink the government down to the size that it could be drowned in a bathtub. More recently, in commenting on the fiscal crisis in the states and its affect on schools and poor people, Norquist said, "I hope one of them" – one of the states – "goes bankrupt." So much for compassionate conservatism. But at least Norquist says what he means and means what he says. The White House pursues the same homicidal dream without saying so. Instead of shrinking down the government, they're filling the bathtub with so much debt that it floods the house, water-logs the economy, and washes away services for decades that have lifted millions of Americans out of destitution and into the middle-class.

Niedermayer to rejoin Ducks, delay retirement
ANAHEIM, Calif. - NHL playoffs MVP Scott Niedermayer will rejoin the Anaheim Ducks after sitting out the first 28 games of the season. The defending Stanley Cup champions are hoping Teemu Selanne will follow suit. Ducks general manager Brian Burke announced Niedermayer's decision at a news conference a half-hour before Wednesday night's 4-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. When his opening remarks were replayed on the video board before the game and again during the first intermission, the sellout crowd of 17,174 roared its approval. “I was pretty thrilled," said Rob Niedermayer, who got the word from his big brother by phone on Tuesday. “For sure, I've had a lot of fun playing with him the last two years, and I know it was a tough decision for him. I know everyone in this room is happy to have him back.
Has reaction to the Archbishop's Sharia law comments been Islamophobic ...
I was schocked when I viewed the BBC 2-minute video summary on the Internet portraying, I think only 20 seconds after the explanation had started, a black man lashing a young person in front of a crowd of black children who looked dismayed. Why that? Why not try and have a think about what the Archbishop meant? I think the whole reaction is so really stupid. I am convinced that the archbishop is a thoughtful man however, if he is so thoughtful, could he not guess that his remarks would be misconstrued and that the same bad images of Islam and so-called Islamic law being implemented wherever ( real Islamic law is implemented NOWHERE at all and I know what I am talking about) would just come up AGAIN and AGAIN? I dont know but if even somebody like me could figure this out , he could have too, and therefore I am pondering about the significance and relevance of this declaration.
Plenty of achievements amid sins
There are some fair criticisms that Groves should cop it, but for a guy who has been one of this country's great small business success stories, he shouldn't be pilloried for enjoying the consequences of his hard work. Before looking at the sins he deserves a bagging for, let's recap on his achievements. Before this share-market shellacking, there would have been thousands of up-and-coming business owners who would have been inspired to greater things by reading Groves' story. And when business owners go on to greater things, it usually means jobs and wages for others. It means more taxes for governments to spend and when they grow overseas, as Groves has, it also means valuable export income that this company sorely requires. This South African-born Brisbane boy started out as a bank clerk in Brisbane.
Cameras to check on illegal parking
In a bid to avoid motorists being caught unawares, the council will run send out dummy warning notices to people caught breaking the rules in the first fortnight of March. Councillor Vlod Barchuk, who is in charge of transport in the borough, said: "Parking enforcement is not universally popular but the regulations are there to keep roads safe and ensure the free flow of traffic and should be enforced. "Pedestrian safety is the top priority which is why we have already stepped up CCTV enforcement around schools and next will be enforcing regulations at zebra crossings. "However, some regulations are badly understood by motorists so our approach will be to warn before we enforce. We will give motorists advance notice so they have ample opportunity to avoid getting fines." Fines issued by the council in the first month of the CCTV enforcement outside Ealing Broadway station earned more than £225,000, with fines of £100 for each offence recorded, and the extension comes into force from March 31.

Aramis Ramirez declines to discuss cockfighting
MESA, Ariz. – Aramis Ramirez arrived at spring training Tuesday and gladly talked about last season when he led the Cubs in RBIs and helped them win the NL Central. But the team’s star third baseman had little to say on a report about his passion for cockfighting in his native Dominican Republic.Ramirez batted .310, hit 26 homers and led the Cubs with 101 RBIs but struggled in the first round of the playoffs. He was 0-for-12 as the Cubs were swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks."You know, it happens," he said. "They were hot and played good. That wasn’t the reason we lost. We didn’t play well."The New York Times reported this month that Ramirez was featured in an issue of a Dominican cockfighting magazine, En La Traba, and is pictured with some roosters."When I’m in the Dominican Republic, I’m dedicated entirely to them," he was quoted as saying.Click here to read the rest at Chicago Baseball 365.
