| Price, Canadiens take on Sharks
Montreal, which is 20-9-4 on the road this year, will also visit Phoenix, Los Angeles and Anaheim over the next week. San Jose picked up some goaltending depth at the trade deadline, signing Brian Boucher to a one-year contract last Tuesday, and the netminder made his Sharks debut on Saturday. Boucher stopped 24 shots in a 2-0 victory over St. Louis for his 14th career shutout. Boucher had been playing for the Philadelphia Phantoms, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Flyers, and hadn't played a game in the NHL since March 30 of last season with Columbus. Starting netminder Evgeni Nabokov has played in all but three of San Jose's games this year, and is tied for the league lead in wins with 35. Joe Pavelski and Mike Grier scored for the Sharks, who won their season-high fifth straight game.

So once again Ollie begins bellowing out his tune and saves a cruise ship from hitting the rocks. The young hero is given a medal and a scholarship to a music school "that is so far from our town that nobody will be disturbed anymore." This title was originally published in 1950, and Yaccarino's new illustrations retain the look of that era. The colors are uniform and flat throughout, and Ollie wears a navy suit with short pants and a bow tie. The illustrator plays with size and perspective; the boy's horn is sometimes larger than buildings. The book is mildly amusing but not an essential purchase.—Ieva Bates, Ann Arbor District Library, MI BEDFORD, David. Time for Bed, Isobel. illus. by Leonie Worthington. unpaged. Tulo lands a big deal
Troy Tulowitzki isn't a shortstop. He's a pixie dust-speckled short story. Seventeen months ago he wore topsiders and jeans on his first big-league road trip. Eleven months ago he arrived at spring training without a starting job. But on Wednesday, about the same time a kid his age might be grabbing lunch on campus, Tulowitzki talked about his six-year, $31 million contract with the Rockies that includes a seventh-year club option in 2014 for $15 million. He looked like he had fallen off the cover of GQ, dressed in a black suit with a purple-tinted tie. "I have a lot of nice clothes now," Tulowitzki, 23, told The Denver Post before heading to dinner with his teammates Wednesday night. The evolution of Tulowitzki has been .
South Africa Allows Killing of Elephants
South Africa said Monday that it will start killing elephants to reduce their burgeoning numbers, ending a 13-year ban and possibly setting a precedent for other African nations. Environment Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk said the government was left with no choice but to reintroduce killing elephants "as a last option and under very strict conditions" to reduce environmental degradation and rising conflicts with humans. There will be no "wholesale slaughter," he told reporters. The announcement follows months of impassioned debate, with some conservationists arguing for elephant killings to protect the ecosystem, and animal welfare groups outraged at the prospect of slaughtering one of the planet's most intelligent and self-aware creatures. South Africa has been hugely successful in protecting its elephant population, once on the verge of extinction in parts of the country.
Hip-Hop Rumors: Lauryn Hill Had Her Baby? Timbaland The Slave?
OUCH! I don't know if 50 is like me and remembers Paris using the N-Word, but I heard that he dissed the crap out of the heiress. Read the AHH Report right here! Here is what Page Six said about the whole ordeal. They were there. During his performance at the Paris Hilton-hosted pre-Super Bowl party for 944 magazine last night, 50 Cent gave a shout out to Paris, who then started singing in the front row. Paris and 50 are good friends. When the princess decided to get onstage and dance, the hip-hopper's crew and stagehands quickly instructed her to "Get the f**k off the stage." She started to cry and tried to plead with the party's production staff to let her dance, whining, "But it's my party!" Nobody cares if it's your party.
An inconvenient trip: Here are 10 great destinations before it's too ...
I know that we have seen tremendous growth in our expeditions to the polar regions (Antarctica and the Arctic)," says Jennifer Gregoire, media relations manager for Lindblad Expeditions, via e-mail. The voyages have been sold out far in advance, prompting the company to purchase a second ship for the polar regions. The National Geographic Explorer is expected to set sail in June. Denise Landau, executive director of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators, says the increase has nothing to do with climate sightseeing: "It's a fantastic place to go, more vessels available for people to travel on, and there are more companies who are established around the world. I've actually gotten that question a lot, and our operators don't believe it has anything to do with global warming."
