Drudge headline distorted Clinton comments to suggest she said "Obama ...
On March 3, the Drudge Report linked to online news portal Breitbart.tv video footage from the March 2 edition of CBS' 60 Minutes under the headline "Hillary: Obama Not Muslim 'As Far As I Know' ... ," falsely suggesting that Sen. Hillary Clinton characterized the issue of Sen. Barack Obama's religion as unresolved. In fact, she did the opposite. Correspondent Steve Kroft first asked Clinton, "You don't believe that Senator Obama is a Muslim?" to which Clinton replied, "Of course not. I mean, that's -- you know, there is no basis for that. You know, I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn't any reason to doubt that." Kroft then asked, "And you said you'd take Senator Obama at his word that he's not a Muslim," to which Clinton replied, "Right. Right." Only after Kroft went on to ask, "You don't believe that he's a Muslim or implying, right?," did Clinton respond, "No.
Women turn on ‘traitor’ Oprah Winfrey for backing Barack Obama
Hillary has the backing of her husband, former President Clinton and no one is balking at the tag team job the two of them are doing on Obama. Just being a former president gives him an advantage over the other candidates so whoever Obama and/or John can get to support them is warranted. We voters need to focus on more important issues than who's backing/supporting who since we have the last say! .
Sugar 'n' nice
I actually enjoy reading most of your posts. Some thinking goes into each one. And I think we must have posted around the same time. So I hope it doesn't look like I was replying to what you were saying about Pombo. I don't know why someone couldn't take money from Indian Casinos? Maybe because of the size of the donation? Arnold does that. Why not Pombo. Or other politicians. I am an independant. So not playing partisan politics. I say vote them all out. Don't really like most of the choices. But I do like it when people do their homework and stop the bob, style, guerilla, tactics. I am not directing that to everyone. Just so you know. .
1968 Year of Rage
President Lyndon Baines Johnson of Texas, who had succeeded to the office upon the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, was the target of serious protest from students and derision from fellow politicians on both sides of the aisle. Johnson knew, as proved by later released telephone and other transcripts, that the war was lost, yet he poured thousands of American troops into that Southeast Asian country. Eventually, more than 58,000 Americans died in Vietnam. .
Obama, Clinton campaigns tout vigorous volunteer efforts in Central ...
Austin-area volunteers for Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton are doing far more than the typical telephoning of voters at dinner time. Although phone banks in their Texas campaign headquarters buzz morning till night, such calling is supplemented by unusual electronic outreach, a mix of e-mail and personalized social networking via MeetUp groups and Web sites. Also, the campaigns are coaching thousands of people to hand out information at the polls Tuesday and to participate in primary-night caucuses. .
Adelaide hosts solar congress
The mayors are getting together, talking about how they've done it, learning from each other and taking these initiatives back home," she said. "What we're aiming for is to get the per capita emissions down. "In order to do that we must have a big transition to renewable energy so at the congress there will be a bit on the new technologies that are available, including solar thermal and geothermal plus pv (photovoltaics or solar panels). "We will hear from cities that have long had programs in reducing emissions, like Copenhagen and even South Korean cities. "It's easier if you start from scratch but older cities have to retrofit and learn from others that are doing it right." Premier Mike Rann says SA is one of the leaders.
Oracle says it's broadening, not ending, its dispute with SAP
No date for mediation has been set, and we are not currently in settlement discussions. In fact, such discussions are premature," Hellinger said, in a written statement this week. "As set forth in Oracle's current claims, it appears that SAP infringed Oracle's intellectual property on a daily basis over a course of many years, in ways that Oracle is only beginning to discover." Hellinger also said that Oracle has "uncovered a broader program of copyright infringement that is entirely different from the scheme alleged in the current complaint." As a result of this evidence, she said, Oracle "will file an amended complaint that will include these new claims." In its original claim against SAP, Oracle alleged that TomorrowNow -- a support services entity acquired by SAP in 2005 -- performed "corporate theft on a grand scale" in downloading software from Oracle on half of TN's customers.
